Curious

As I go further and further into this project I feel less and less beholden to a certain technique or outcome. I remind myself that different days feel like different styles, and that we don’t have to create in only one way. As you develop your own methods of making and your own way of expressing yourself, your hand will emerge. And when that happens, you can always see it, no matter what style you choose. As artists we need the freedom to evolve, to question, to experiment and to express ourselves in an instinctual way. This is curiosity, our constant desire to play, understand and learn.

The drawings go in order, Days 1-5. Click on the first drawing and you can click through them all.

Day 1. Curious is having so many things in front of you, the excitement of not really knowing which to pick or what to do first.

Day 2: Curious is a space in your head that is always talking to you, asking you questions, pushing you to look further.

Day 3: Curious is that spark when you make things, that wants you to try something different, to play more when you have been doing things as you thought they should be done.

Day 4: Curious is turning your imagination into your every day, bringing more fun into your daily routine.

Day 5: Curious is the path you walk when you need to explore something, it is immediate, it is the what if, it keeps you alive and discovering new things about yourself! To get here is sometimes a challenge, but worth it.
