Lonely
I’ve definitely felt this feeling before. Lonely is another one of those feelings that is so figurative for me. I tried to think differently in the end, I tried to draw an atmosphere or a space. Feelings don’t always have to be related to ourselves, but can also be related to an environment.
The drawings go in order, Days 1-5. Click on the first drawing and you can click through them all.
Day 1. Lonely is sometimes a feeling of total collapse and resignation. Feeling collapsed into yourself.
Day 2: Lonely is augmented when you compare yourself to others, to what appears that others have and you do not.
Day 3: What about the times when you think that you are lonely, but you step outside yourself for a second, just enough for a wave of creativity to come along and completely distract you from your Lonliness. Which makes you happy to be alone so you can finish your project uninterrupted.
Day 4: This is the second crumpled person with knees to chest i draw this week. Lonely is sadness but, in that sadness, an attempt to comfort yourself.
Day 5: What is the space of lonliness? How does it look or act. Can a space have a feeling? I believe it’s an atmosphere.
This is the Draw Your Feelings Project.
